OSWEGO — An International Softball Congress (ISC) II world qualifying tournament begins today and continues through Sunday at the Legends Softball Complex in Oswego.

It was a busy day yesterday for the New London softball team as the Tigers handed West Burlington a 4-0 afternoon loss in New London, then hit the road to defeat Van Buren 7-0 in Keosauqua last night.

Saturday, the Minden Recreation Complex will host four softball tournaments. The Darlings league will play on Field 7, the Angels which will be played on Field 5, the Ponytails which will be played on Field 6 and the Belles which will be played on Field 8.

OSWEGO - Exploding for 10 runs on 10 hits, the Oswego Pride 16-and-under girls softball team routed South Jefferson 10-0 to complete a doubleheader sweep Tuesday in the Home Necessities Varsity League.

The Eric Anderson Memorial Foundation plans its third annual Big Stick Softball Tournament for July 11 at Mahoney Softball Fields in Lincoln. Co-ed and men’s divisions will play a one-day tournament; top three teams in each division will win prizes.
